Actually I have other new songs. Let me also announce that I am working on an album which will be released very soon,\u201d Machuluka said.<\/p>\n<p>Machuluka was recently in South Africa where he was invited for performances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am also working very hard to hold more shows in the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The youthful musician has been in the limelight since he released the Tonga track \u2018Zowala Za Mwana Wangu\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Zowala za Mwana Wangu\u2019, is a song which continues to enjoy airplay especially at weddings and engagements and in the track Machuluka speaks volumes of parents, who are excited with the wedding of their child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome people confuse the lyrics. For instance I have heard others saying <em>zovala <\/em>[clothes] and yet it\u2019s <em>zowala <\/em>(wedding). It\u2019s just a simple song where parents are expressing happiness at the wedding of their child,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>So far the artist has managed to record close to eight songs and the other one is \u2018Awakoliyapu\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He said some people have been asking him as to why he is concentrating much on doing Tonga songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are artists like Diamond, who do their songs in Swahili; so, it\u2019s the same with me,\u201d Machuluka said.<\/p>\n<p>Of the eight songs he has recorded, only one, \u2018Homesick\u2019, is in English\u2019, while the rest are in Tonga.<\/p>\n<p>The other songs are \u2018Mwakambanga Boza\u2019, \u2018Wandiphwamuwa\u2019, \u2018M\u2019bali Wangu\u2019, \u2018Ndituza\u2019 and \u2018Vwalako\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>His music career dates back to the time he was a kid when, with friends, they used to make instruments from tins, wires and wood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI developed a strong interest in playing instruments after I sat for my Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lilongwe-based musician Machuluka, real name Andrew Mphande, has said he has received an overwhelming response from fans since he came out with his Tonga beats.
