As such, we held a big event in the UK to raise some funds. Our members also contributed money,\u201d Gama said.<\/p>\n<p>The mattresses have been bought at a cost of K450, 000.<\/p>\n<p>Mangochi District Hospital Administrator, Boniface Macheka, said the hospital is in need of about 400 pieces of mattresses to accommodate patients<\/p>\n<p>He said the hospital has the capacity to hold about 380 people but, due to population boom, it accommodates between 400 and 450 people daily.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two executive members of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)- United Kingdom (UK) wing have donated 20 mattresses to support Mangochi District Hospital after a fire destroyed equipment and beddings last month.
