Malawi national women\u2019s football team Captain, Tabitha Chawinga, scored a winner for her Chinese Women\u2019s Super League side, Jiangu Sunning, as they claimed a 1-0 victory over Shanghai on Sunday.<\/p>\n
It was a second match for the former Lilongwe\u2019s DD Sunshine striker straight from an injury.<\/p>\n
Chawinga was not readily available for a comment yesterday but she posted her exploits on her Facebook page.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast week, in the first game away to Wuhan in which we lost 2-1, courtesy of NI Mengile consolation goal, I only featured for 55 minutes but in the second game away to Shanghai, I scored the winner when I made a full debut,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Sunning are fourth on the log table with three points from two games. Dalian top the standings with six points, at par with Wuhan.<\/p>\n
DD Sunshine Coac h , Andrew Chikhosi, said he was confident that the She-Flames player would take the Chinese League by storm this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI last talked to her on Monday and she said she has adapted quickly to the Chinese environment,\u201d Chikhosi said.<\/p>\n
Chawinga moved to the Chinese League from Sweden where she finished as the top goal-scorer in three consecutive seasons in different divisions.<\/p>\n
