Red Lions on Sunday suffered their first defeat of the 2018 TNM Super League season at the hands of fellow solders Kamuzu Barracks (KB) at Mangochi Stadium.<\/p>\n
The 3-2 loss means that the Lions are yet win at their new Mangochi backyard.<\/p>\n
Davie Banda opened the scoring for KB when he slotted home from a direct free-kick in the 12th minute, and six minutes later, Samuel Chiponda added the second goal.<\/p>\n
The two goals swayed the game in favour of KB who controlled the midfield, which Banda and Gift M\u2019bwana marshalled.<\/p>\n
In the second-half, Chimwemwe Chisambi added the third goal after connecting a free-kick from Banda in the 56th minute.<\/p>\n
Sensing danger, Lions introduced Willard John for midfielder Innocent Mulima. John changed the game in favour of the Zomba-based solders, resulting in an 81st minute goal by Boniface Kaulesi.<\/p>\n
The goal energised the Lions who scored their second goal from a penalty which Moses Nankumba converted after KB defender Pempho Kansichiri handball.<\/p>\n
After the game, Lions Coach, Stereo Gondwe, admitted that his defenders struggled.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe gifted them two goals in the first-half. After recess, the boys knew what to do. However, there are some areas I need to work on, especially in defending,\u201d Gondwe said.<\/p>\n
His counterpart, Temwa Msuku said travelling from Mulanje, where they played against Tigers on Saturday, affected his team.<\/p>\n
