South African musician Benjamin Dube on Friday put it on record that he will feature the country\u2019s singer and guitarist Faith Mussa in his upcoming album set for release next year.<\/p>\n
Dube shared the stage with Mussa at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
After his close to three hour electric performance, the award winning musician expressed satisfaction with Mussa\u2019s act before announcing his interest to feature the youthful musician in his next album to be released in 2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was thrilled by his performance. Faith Mussa delivered for me. He was very mature and professional. He is a professional and quality musician for me. He is ready to face the world and occupy the centre stage,\u201d Dube said.<\/p>\n
The musician, who is a well-travelled preacher, added that he felt Mussa\u2019s heart and sincerity.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was true to himself and I love the fact he did not shy away from his roots. You don\u2019t promote yourself but you let your gift promote you and I am saying it on record I am going to feature him in my album coming up in 2019\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
Dube said he was yet to make more progress in the album which will be a project between America and Africa saying apart from Mussa, there were also other musicians.<\/p>\n
The South African musician also said if given a chance he is ready to provide mentorship to Mussa.<\/p>\n
Mussa, who was standing beside Dube while he made the announcement, was seen in tears while expressing his disbelief.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really thank God that this has come at this time. I just finished my new album Mdidi <\/em>and then Benjamin Dube has decided to have me in his album. This is special,\u201d Mussa said.<\/p>\n The musician, who is set to perform in United Kingdom later this year, described the night on Friday as his best.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile Benjamin Dube was telling me the exciting news of featuring me in his album, the same night I was also receiving news of winning three awards at the Nyasa Music Awards in Blantyre where I failed to make it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Mussa then said he will be going to South Africa in August to discuss the project.<\/p>\n \u201cBenjamin Dube is one of the people I have been dying to meet. It has actually been the dream of many artists to interact with him and God finally made it happen and probably this was the best time. I have actually received everything with all my hands,\u201d Mussa said.<\/p>\n The maker of \u2018Pamudzi Pano\u2019, who has also excelled performing as a one-man band has made massive improvements in his music which has seen several international festivals inviting him.<\/p>\n Last year he performed at the Glastonbury Festival in United Kingdom.<\/p>\n He has since indicated that he will launch Mdidi in September this year where his father and mother will star as Mussa Family, a family group that Mussa and brothers passed through and gained musical experience before going solo.<\/p>\n During the show, which attracted an impressive audience including Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leader, Lazarus Chakwera, Dube also had time to interact with legendary musician Mtebeti Wambali Mkandawire.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Dube has also commended the organisers of the worship concert National Friends of Church of Central African Presbyterian Students Organisation (FOCCAPSO) for a job well done.<\/p>\n The las t time the musician performed in the country, the show suffered a setback due to payment issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" South African musician Benjamin Dube on Friday put it on record that he will feature the country\u2019s singer and guitarist Faith Mussa in his upcoming album set for release next year.
