Malawi\u2019s junior welterweight boxer, Limbani Masamba ,is confident of chalking his first away international win when facing Sacky\u2019’Izinyoka\u2019 Shikukutu in Namibia next month.<\/p>\n
Namibia\u2019s Nestor Sunshine Boxing Academy will host the eight-round International Boxing Organisation (IBO) world international title fight on August 8 in Namibia.<\/p>\n
The 23 year-old\u2019s last away fight in Zambia ended in a loss to Congolese boxer Mbia Nkanku.<\/p>\n
Masamba left the country on Thursday to finalise his preparations in Zimbabwe at Delta Force Boxing Academy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am in good spirits and confident that l will win. It is a must that I have to win away from home as well. I now know what it takes to fight in a foreign country where you don\u2019t have supporters. That time, I lost because I was a novice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Delta Force Boxing Academy trainer Clyde Musonda said Masamba would have sparring sessions with his elder brother Wilson and Charles Misanjo before heading to Namibia.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe will train with his compatriots for three days. We will just help him improve his style and game plan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, national junior welterweight champion Osgood Kayuni fight against a South African boxer Phillip Ndou has been shifted from this August to September.<\/p>\n
Musonda said there was no need to panic as Kayuni already signed a contract.<\/p>\n
Musonda\u2019s stable has teamed up with Malawi\u2019s No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions to arrange the international fights.<\/p>\n
No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions managing director, Craig Rousseau, said they expect Kayuni to continue training.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe needs to keep shape to avoid being embarrassed in South Africa.
