{"id":64952,"date":"2018-05-07T06:07:32","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T04:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=64952"},"modified":"2018-05-07T06:07:32","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T04:07:32","slug":"silver-strikers-reject-blessings-tembo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/05\/07\/silver-strikers-reject-blessings-tembo\/","title":{"rendered":"Silver Strikers reject Blessings Tembo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unsettled midfielder, Blessings Tembo, is likely to continue with life on the sidelines as his former club, Silver Strikers, is not keen on re-signing him.<\/p>\n<p>Tembo left Silver in the pre-season under controversial circumstances and signed for Be Forward Wanderers ahead of the Nomads\u2019 Caf Champions League matches against Democratic Republic of Congo\u2019s AS Vita.<\/p>\n<p>But he terminated the contract with just days before the kickoff of the new season, claiming Wanderers did not fulfil their obligations.<\/p>\n<p>Silver General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka-Nyirenda, said there is no place for Tembo at Area 47.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are a number of factors that we considered as a club. Firstly, our quota is full so it meant we were supposed to release one player.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecondly, Tembo betrayed us and he did not show loyalty to the club. He left when he was captain, so we do not want to set a precedent that we condone indiscipline at the club,\u201d Chakaka-Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the decision was made in consultation with relevant stakeholders at the club including the board of directors and the technical panel.<\/p>\n<p>Tembo and his manager, Jimmy Linje, could not answer their mobile phones Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unsettled midfielder, Blessings Tembo, is likely to continue with life on the sidelines as his former club, Silver Strikers, is not keen on re-signing him.
