{"id":64804,"date":"2018-05-03T10:27:02","date_gmt":"2018-05-03T08:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=64804"},"modified":"2018-05-03T10:27:03","modified_gmt":"2018-05-03T08:27:03","slug":"three-districts-to-mourn-abel-mwakilama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/05\/03\/three-districts-to-mourn-abel-mwakilama\/","title":{"rendered":"Three districts to mourn Abel Mwakilama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fans in Lilongwe, Karonga and Chitipa districts will have a chance to pay their last respects to departed Malawi under-20 national football team striker Abel Mwakilama from Friday, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) General Secretary, Alfred Gunda, has announced.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement released on Tuesday, Gunda said the body of Mwakilama is expected to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport at 2:30 pm Friday, followed by prayers at the same facility.<\/p>\n<p>After the prayers, the remains will be taken to Chitipa where Mwakilama made a name by steering Chitipa United to the TNM Super League in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The body will proceed to Karonga on Saturday for burial the following day.<\/p>\n<p>Mwakilama, who was playing his trade with Sporting Clube de Esmoriz in Portugal, died of suspected cerebral malaria three weeks ago to plunge Malawi in shock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fans in Lilongwe, Karonga and Chitipa districts will have a chance to pay their last respects to departed Malawi under-20 national football team striker Abel Mwakilama from Friday, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) General Secretary, Alfred Gunda, has announced.
