Football Players Association (FPA) has set a budget of K60 million annually to cater for its activities.<\/p>\n
FPA General Secretary, Ernest Mangani, on Thursday said they have put several measures to ensure they raise the money.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are working tirelessly to that players register with the association. Meanwhile, we have received good feedback from our stakeholders, including the players.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe K60 million-budget has been made to assist our day-to-day activities, including medical insurance and funeral covers. We also intend to recruit someone who will be responsible for membership registration and running the office on our behalf,\u201d Mangani said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has stepped in to assist FPA by ordering 13 stadium managers in the country to spare six percent and 10 percent from gross revenue per local and international games respectively.<\/p>\n
According to a letter dated April 13 2018, addressed to the managers by Fams General Secretary, Alfred Gunda, the share is effective this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe percentage share for the FPA will go towards the financing of the activities and programmes of the association whose objective is to serve the very assets of football\u2014the players. In light of the same, match proceeds distribution sheets are expected to be revised to include the FPA share,\u201d reads part of the letter.<\/p>\n
In reaction, Mangani said Fam\u2019s intervention would help FPA to raise the money faster.<\/p>\n
