{"id":64377,"date":"2018-04-24T07:27:40","date_gmt":"2018-04-24T05:27:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=64377"},"modified":"2018-04-24T07:27:40","modified_gmt":"2018-04-24T05:27:40","slug":"suspect-pleads-guilty-to-killing-shadreck-wame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/04\/24\/suspect-pleads-guilty-to-killing-shadreck-wame\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspect pleads guilty to killing Shadreck Wame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Principal suspect in the murder of popular evangelist Shadreck Wame Monday pleaded guilty to the charge and is expected to be sentenced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Limbani Maliro, the late cleric\u2019s housekeeper, was arrested by the police in Thyolo on November 25, 2016, after a month-long hunt for killers of the evangelist whose body was found in his house in Salima with deep cuts in the head and other parts.<\/p>\n<p>Both Legal Aid Bureau Director Masauko Chankakala and his deputy Trouble Kalua confirmed yesterday that Maliro had pleaded guilty before the High Court sitting in the lakeshore district.<\/p>\n<p>Kalua, who was present in the court when Maliro made his plea, said the Legal Aid Bureau team\u2014 representing the convict\u2014 made submissions on sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went there as part of the Legal Aid Bureau team.
