{"id":64011,"date":"2018-04-17T07:23:19","date_gmt":"2018-04-17T05:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=64011"},"modified":"2018-04-17T07:23:19","modified_gmt":"2018-04-17T05:23:19","slug":"joseph-mwale-stumbles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/04\/17\/joseph-mwale-stumbles\/","title":{"rendered":"Joseph Mwale stumbles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi\u2019s highest-rated chess player, Joseph Mwale, stumbled at the Zone 4:3 Championship in Mozambique after finishing 12th out of 24 participants over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The South Africa-based Malawian, who is a candidate master, finished with five points whereas champion Fide Master, Catalino Domingos, from Angola, amassed 6.5 points.<\/p>\n<p>Mwale said the tournament helped him to prepare for the Batumi Olympiad set for September in Georgia, Europe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a bad start but I tried to push myself up to finish the last games well and it happened. I hope for a great start next time.
