A South Africa-based wealth management and advisory firm, Carrick, has rolled its operations in the country with a pledge to improve the saving culture among Malawians.<\/p>\n
Carrick has said inculcating a culture of saving would help improve people\u2019s wealth creation abilities as well as boost economic growth.<\/p>\n
Speaking in Blantyre during the launch of the firm, Carrick Group Chief Executive Officer, Craig Featherby, said research has revealed that the country has a poor savings culture and low levels of financial inclusion; hence, the commitment to push for an improvement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have seen that the Malawi population lacks discipline to save. Therefore, we are going to encourage the importance of saving for the future,\u201d Featherby said.<\/p>\n
He said the local market has vast opportunities, which Carrick would tap into.<\/p>\n
Rating Carrick as an innovative organisation, Featherby said the firm would bring \u201ctailor made\u201d products to address financial management challenges facing a majority Malawians.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe market is very much untapped. We are extremely excited because this is a business opportunity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
