Few People turned out at Zambian gospel musician Ephraim concert at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on Friday night.<\/p>\n
At the concert, organised by the Calvary Family Church to raise funds for its 25th anniversary celebrations coming up in August, not even quarter of the auditorium was filled up.<\/p>\n
Forgotten gospel group Joshua Generation Band was the first to hit the stage.<\/p>\n
The concert was expected to start at 8pm but it delayed and started at 9pm.<\/p>\n
The Mighty POV, the trio of George Adams, Isaac Chizaka and Omex Chimpeni, came up next followed by Great Angels choir, popularly known as The People\u2019s choir.<\/p>\n
Despite the poor turnout, the few that came enjoyed the gospel vibes, with Great Angels Choir attracting the audience to the dance floor.<\/p>\n
Great Angels offered several of their songs but it was the song \u2018Tadikira\u2019 which dominated.<\/p>\n
Ephraim then appeared on stage close to midnight, starting off his set with praise and worship songs.<\/p>\n
But it was his famous \u2018Permanent\u2019 song that moved the audience.<\/p>\n
In an interview after the show, Ephraim said he enjoyed performing in the country but was quick to point out that there were many shows in Lilongwe on the night; hence, getting a low patronage.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe show was really good only that I think a lot of people had functions because of the Easter period. But low patronage aside, it was a lovely concert. Actually where two or three people are gathered that is my principle to perform to the best and I believe that God touched the people that He wanted to touch,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Ephraim further revealed that he has worked on a new album titled God is Doing Something New. <\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThe new album is really an amazing project.
