{"id":63157,"date":"2018-03-30T11:14:28","date_gmt":"2018-03-30T09:14:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=63157"},"modified":"2018-03-30T11:14:29","modified_gmt":"2018-03-30T09:14:29","slug":"zomba-to-stage-street-wrestling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/03\/30\/zomba-to-stage-street-wrestling\/","title":{"rendered":"Zomba to stage street wrestling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wrestling Federation of Malawi will stage the second edition of street wrestling at Chinamwali Trading Centre in Zomba on April 2.<\/p>\n<p>The federation\u2019s Eastern Region Chapter Chairperson, Bright Limani, said they wanted to inject life into the sport, which they launched in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe games have been organised to help us identify talent and sharpen skills of budding and experienced wrestlers,\u201d said Limani, who is also the event\u2019s chairperson.<\/p>\n<p>During the first edition, 13 wrestlers were certified fit to take part in the competition while seven failed to meet the standards.<\/p>\n<p>Limani said they will hold different activities to promote the sport to athletes and corporate world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to register potential athletes to take up the sport.
