{"id":63078,"date":"2018-03-29T11:00:46","date_gmt":"2018-03-29T09:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=63078"},"modified":"2018-03-29T11:00:47","modified_gmt":"2018-03-29T09:00:47","slug":"cockpit-hosts-easter-special","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/03\/29\/cockpit-hosts-easter-special\/","title":{"rendered":"Cockpit hosts Easter Special"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lilongwe\u2019s Cockpit Lounge will host a three-day Easter Special which features DJ performances, Edgar ndi Davis and veteran Giddes Chalamanda.<\/p>\n<p>On Good Friday, DJ Phil Touch and DJ Energizer will host Crucible Reloaded; on Saturday, DJ E will present Easter Grooves and, on Easter Sunday, Edgar ndi Davis, featuring Giddes, will complete the three-day marathon of fun.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview, Cockpit Lounge\u2019s Commercial Director, Martin Nkasala, said the Easter Special is what patrons deserve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEaster is the best time for people to unwind and reunite with friends after working hard during the first quarter of the year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nkasala said the Easter Special is well-packaged to satisfy the tastes of Cockpit\u2019s customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe start by taking our customers back in time to the 90s with the old school party dubbed Crucible Reloaded. On Saturday, we take it to the \u2018millennials\u2019 with Easter Jams hosted by DJ E and finish with Edgar ndi Davis featuring Giddes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is for acoustic music lovers. This whole package is a perfect treat for our customers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It will be the second time for Edgar ndi Davis to grace the Cockpit Lounge. Band member Davis Njobvu said they are ready for the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our first show in Lilongwe this year and we have a new band. As such, people should expect to see some real talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also re-arranged some of the songs as well as order of performances with the result that, nowadays, we can perform for more than five hours, giving our fans maximum satisfaction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>DJ E, who will make a rare appearance, said Lilongwe fans should expect the best.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCockpit is one of the best venues in the city. I will display what I have and no-one will be disappointed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The DJ said people should brace for a mixed bag of hits and memories of urban, hip hop, R&amp;B, contemporary pop as well as dancehall and reggae.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will also throw in African hits and local tunes.
