{"id":62976,"date":"2018-03-27T09:06:34","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T07:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=62976"},"modified":"2018-03-27T09:06:34","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T07:06:34","slug":"ngo-donates-bicycles-to-community-facilitators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/03\/27\/ngo-donates-bicycles-to-community-facilitators\/","title":{"rendered":"NGO donates bicycles to community facilitators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gender Governance and Justice Development Centre (GGJDC), a non-governmental organization that promotes social justice, Monday donated 61 bicycles to community facilitators in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>GGJDC Board Chairperson, Peter Chisi, said the donation would help ease transportation challenges that community facilitators are facing in their day-to-day work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe facilitators face many challenges when they want to move from one community to another to raise awareness on a number of issues,\u201d Chisi said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the bicycles would also help in implementing GGJDC\u2019s programme of women empowerment for elected positions.<\/p>\n<p>Chisi said the organisation would ensure that women are interested in taking part in the 2019 tripartite elections.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the community facilitators, Elina Makondesa, from Chiwamba Ward, said the donation would help them move from one community to another without difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Gender Governance Justice and Development Centre is supported by Dutch Foreign Affairs Ministry through Hivos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gender Governance and Justice Development Centre (GGJDC), a non-governmental organization that promotes social justice, Monday donated 61 bicycles to community facilitators in Lilongwe.
