The majority of Be Forward Wanderers top brass, including Chaiperson Gift Mkandawire and General Secretary, Mike Butao, retained their seats during the teams\u2019 executive committee polls which saw some changes following the fall of treasurer, Davis Msadala.<\/p>\n
Former Football Association of Malawi (Fam) treasurer, Hubert Mfune, returned to football administration when he was elected the teams\u2019 Second Vice-Chairperson with a 373 votes landslide win over Andrew Mwadala\u2019s 36.<\/p>\n
Robert Mbedza rose from the position of committee member to dethrone Msadala with 400 votes against nine.<\/p>\n
Butao retained his General Secretary post with 404 votes against challenger Mlenga Mvula\u2019s five.<\/p>\n
Mvula conceded defeat but felt that there were some grey areas which restricted his supporters from exercising their voting rights.<\/p>\n
Mkandawire, as expected, retained his post unopposed whereas Allan Chuma rose from second Vice-Chairperson to First Vice-Chairperson unchallenged as well.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Chulu Mkangama rose from Vice-reasurer to Vice- Secretary unopposed.<\/p>\n
Davie Pemba was elected Vice-Treasurer after beating Innocent Chikoko with 401 votes against eight.<\/p>\n
All eight committee members that contested on the day were ushered in as the Nomads broke their tradition of having six committee members.<\/p>\n
Mkandawire and Butao promised to turn the team into a commercial entity in their two-year terms of office.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupporters have entrusted us with the responsibility to take the team to greater heights. We have a vision to make the team better,\u201d Mkandawire said.<\/p>\n
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) Treasurer, Tiya Somba- Banda, and executive member, Charles Manyungwa, described the elections as free and fair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
