Be Forward Wanderers Executive Committee member, Robert Mbedza, has declared interest in contesting for the position of Treasurer in the team\u2019s elections slated for March 25.<\/p>\n
Last week, former general secretary, David Kanyenda, judiciary spokesperson, Mlenga Mvula, well known fan, Yona Malunga, and Blantyre-based businessperson, Davie Pemba, announced plans to vie for different positions in the team.<\/p>\n
Mbedza, who will challenge incumbent Treasurer, Davie Msadala, yesterday said that having served as the team\u2019s Executive Committee member for two seasons, he feels ready to work as treasurer.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am an accountant by profession and I believe I have the capability to manage the team\u2019s funds. We have worked together [with Msadala] and he did a great job. Mine is just an acceptance to the calls from supporters and other stakeholders that I should also try to serve them in managing the team\u2019s finances,\u201d Mbedza said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Kanyenda is still undecided on the post he should contest for, while Mvula and Malunga are eyeing General Secretary and Chairperson posts, respectively.<\/p>\n
Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, has said the elections are open to all interested individuals.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur committee does not need to do campaign because we have done a lot for the team and supporters have confidence in us. But these are elections and everyone is free to contest,\u201d Butao said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
