{"id":62109,"date":"2018-03-12T02:47:25","date_gmt":"2018-03-12T00:47:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=62109"},"modified":"2018-03-12T02:47:25","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T00:47:25","slug":"malawi-boxers-in-namibia-independence-bouts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2018\/03\/12\/malawi-boxers-in-namibia-independence-bouts\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawi boxers in Namibia independence bouts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three Malawian boxers are set to feature in Namibia\u2019s Independence Day celebration fights on March 20.<\/p>\n<p>The three are Tinkhani Kamanga, Limbani Powder and Charles Misanjo.<\/p>\n<p>Kamanga will take on Tomoteus Shula in a six-round featherweight division fight whereas Powder will face Max Ipinge in a four-round welterweight fight.<\/p>\n<p>Misanjo is expected to trade punches with Paulinus Paulus in a six-round middleweight fight.<\/p>\n<p>The trio will feature on the undercard of Walter Kautondokwa and Bill Godoy, who tussle in a World Boxing Organisation-Africa middleweight title fight.<\/p>\n<p>Delta Force Boxing Academy trainer-cum-director, Clyde Musonda, said the three Malawians have been training since early February in readiness for the fights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have been training since they were notified about the fights early February. I hope they will be in shape and impress during the bouts. I have advised them to make the most of this opportunity because they can secure other good fights as international promoters and matchmakers will be in attendance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>One of the boxers, Kamanga, said he was fine-tuning and was determined to impress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been there before; so, I know what it takes to fight in Namibia. I have the required experience to avoid defeat and stun my opponent.
