Civil Sporting Club Head Coach, Franco Ndawa, has said his side needs two more signings before the start of the 2018 season.<\/p>\n
The Lilongwe-based side, which emerged from the scraps of Epac FC and Civo United, have signed former Blantyre United midfielder, Jiddy Mbandambanda, and goalkeeper Hastings Banda from a lower division side in Nkhata Bay District.<\/p>\n
Ndawa on Monday said he was impressed with their preparations ahead of the new season, which starts on April 15.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far, so good. We are trying different players and combinations. I hope that when the league kicks off, the players will be in good shape,\u201d Ndawa said while refusing to disclose the identities of his targets.<\/p>\n
Civil have only lost attacking midfielder, Righteous Banda, to Nyasa Big Bullets, but Innocent Tanganyika\u2019s proposed move to Costa do Sol of Mozambique has failed.<\/p>\n
Veteran midfielder Joseph Kachule has also reversed his decision to retire from active football.<\/p>\n
Former Civo United defender, Willy Chambwinja, said he was impressed with the team\u2019s preparations for the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we have good players who just need to be motivated to perform well at the top level,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In their latest pre-season preparations, Civil drew 0-0 against Capital City rivals, Silver Strikers, during the opening of Answer Private Academy Sports Ground in Dowa District on Monday.<\/p>\n
Civil have talented players such as Fletcher Bandawe, Willard Dickson, Raphael Phiri, Patrick Thupi and Lawrence Chaziya.<\/p>\n
Last season, Civil finished on position four with 48 points, 21 points behind Super League champions, Be Forward Wanderers.<\/p>\n
