Civil Sporting Club have warned fellow TNM Super League teams against enticing the civil servants\u2019 players without permission.<\/p>\n
This comes after the club noted that some clubs have been approaching their players in the ongoing transfer window.<\/p>\n
Civil Team Manager, Gabriel Chirwa, issued a stern warning that they would report such clubs to Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and Football Association of Malawi (Fam) on player-tapping allegations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have the evidence that some officials are busy trying to entice some of our players [to join them]. They are doing that without the consent of the club and players are reporting [this] to us. If they continue, we will expose them and complain to relevant authorities,\u201d Chirwa said in a written response.<\/p>\n
Reports indicate that giants Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers are interested in signing Civil striker Raphael Phiri.<\/p>\n
Civil General Secretary, Ronald Chiwaula, echoed Chirwa\u2019s remarks, saying: \u201cIn modern football, transfer rules and regulations are supposed to be followed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Player-tapping is a serious offence in football but, in Malawi, it is treated with kid\u2019s gloves.<\/p>\n
Civil, who recently sold Righteous Banda to Bullets, have since signed midfielder Jiddy Mbandambanda from relegated Blantyre United as a replacement.<\/p>\n
Last season, Civil finished on position four in the Super League with 48 points, 21 points behind champions Wanderers.<\/p>\n
Civil last won silverware in 2015 when they clinched Standard Bank Cup (now defunct) after beating Wanderers 1-0 at Civo Stadium.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
