Masters Security FC\u2019s Head Coach, Abasi Makawa, has pleaded with the team\u2019s management to maintain the squad ahead of the 2018 TNM Super League.<\/p>\n
Makawa told journalists, after a goal-less draw against Atletico Petroleos de Luanda in the second-leg of Caf Confederation Cup at Bingu National Stadium on Tuesday, that he was impressed with his charges\u2019 fighting spirit.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would be good if we maintain the squad because we are building a team which can be a force to reckon with in the TNM Super League next season. There is great understanding among the players on the pitch. I will be happy if I continue working with this group of players,\u201d Makawa said.<\/p>\n
Masters bolstered their squad with Rafik Mussa, Kondwani Lufeyo (from Be Forward Wanderers), Chimwemwe Kunkwawa, Zeliat Nkhoma (Mzuni FC) and Suwedi Limbani (Moyale Barracks FC).<\/p>\n
There are fears that some players for Masters could leave the club due to financial problems, having gone three months without pay.<\/p>\n
The players boycotted training before their match against Petroleos on Tuesday due to unpaid bonuses. Masters bowed out 5-0 on aggregate.<\/p>\n
Masters General Secretary, Zacharia Nyirenda, confirmed that they owe the players but assured that the club would settle the dues.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust like most of the clubs, we owe the players money but we have tried our best to pay them something. Hopefully, we will sort out everything soon,\u201d Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n
