Fisd Challenge Cup champions, Kamuzu Barracks FC (KB), expect to name a new coach by the end of this month, the team\u2019s Publicity Secretary, Prince Majiga, has confirmed.<\/p>\n
KB do not have a head coach, following Super League of Malawi\u2019s season-long ban on Billy Phambala.<\/p>\n
Phambala was banned after being found guilty of misconduct during a game that ended in a 1-1 draw against Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe on August 2 2017.<\/p>\n
Majiga said the transition of power from the previous Executive Committee to new office bearers has delayed the search for Phambala\u2019s replacement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are yet to meet and map the way forward. However, the issue of hiring another coach would be our first priority when we meet this week.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn players, we have a deep squad but the decision to bring in new players would depend on the technical panel\u2019s needs\u2019 assessment. If they ascertain that new players should be roped in the squad, we will facilitate that process. Whatever the case, the team has enough depth to competitively and seriously challenge for honours this season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
