Stanley Sanudi, following a video clip showing the player flashing bank notes, claiming it was change from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) trip.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, condemned Sanudi\u2019s behaviour.<\/p>\n
The clip, which has gone viral on the social media, shows the player showing off bank notes while seated in a car.<\/p>\n
The player goes on to say that the money was \u201c a change from [the] DRC\u201d, where Wanderers were thrashed 4-0 by AS Vita in the first-leg of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League.<\/p>\n
In an interview, Butao said the conduct of the player was embarrassing to the team and the nation.<\/p>\n
The club has since issued an apology, adding that the player will be dealt with accordingly. \u201cWe are busy looking for assistance from well-wishers and it is strange and incomprehensible for somebody to use personal money to send a wrong message to potential donors and to Malawians in general.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don’t know where the cash is from because to make the DRC trip, we had to negotiate with the players and technical panel to get only part of their allowances. So this deliberate distortion of facts only serves to harm the club and is not acceptable,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n
Sanudi could not be reached for a comment.<\/p>\n
