Masters Security FC failed to fly out to Angola Wednesday due to visa delays, ahead of Saturday\u2019s Confederation of African Football (Caf) Confederation Cup match against Atletico Petroleos de Luanda at 11 de Novembro Stadium.<\/p>\n
The team was supposed to leave for Angola through Kamuzu International Airport but they were shocked after learning that the team\u2019s visas were not out.<\/p>\n
Masters General Secretary, Zachariah Nyirenda, said their failure to fly out was worrisome because they processed visa documents two weeks ago.<\/p>\n
Nyirenda said they learnt that Angola Home Affairs office failed to process the visas due to a public holiday on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are surprised by this development because we sent everything [all documents] to Angola. We have communicated to Fam [Football Association of Malawi] and Caf on the matter. We might travel either on Thursday [today] or Friday [tomorrow], but we will make it,\u201d Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n
Leader of delegation, Severia Chalira, said they would do everything to ensure that Masters travel to Angola.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a scenario that happens most of the time. We are hopeful that this will work out in good time,\u201d Chalira said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Malawi\u2019s Caf Champions League representatives, Be Forward Wanderers, are expected to depart today for the Democratic Republic of Congo for the first-leg against AS Vita on Sunday.<\/p>\n
