The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has written the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra), expressing concern over how Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is covering issues concerning the party.<\/p>\n
In a letter dated February 1 2018 addressed to Macra Director General, Godfrey Itaye, MCP says it is concerned about a new programme called Sapita Kawiri <\/em>and other programmes such as Chindunji<\/em>, Manifesto Yanu <\/em>and Ndikati Chete <\/em>which are aired on MBC.<\/p>\n In the letter, written by second deputy secretary general eisenhower Mkaka, which The Daily Times <\/em>has seen, MCP is asking Macra to act on the conduct of MBC.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is, therefore, in the spirit of being preventive and progressive that we, MCP, write you to exercise your legal mandate to keep MBC in check. We know that, as a body, you have ever summoned Zodiak, Times and others when there were complaints. You did this in exercise of your powers.
