Flames attacking midfielder Robert Ng\u2019ambi\u2019s chances of staying at South African Premier Soccer League side, Platinum Stars, are high after the club rejected Supersport United\u2019s offer for the player.<\/p>\n
Ng\u2019ambi has generated a lot of interest for his impressive performance at Platinum Stars with Supersport United and Orlando Pirates leading the chase for his signature.<\/p>\n
However, South Africa\u2019s football magazine, Kick Off<\/em>, reported on Monday that Platinum Stars had rejected Supersport United\u2019s transfer bid for Ng\u2019ambi.<\/p>\n Supersport United chief executive officer Stan Matthews, confirmed that the club was interested in signing Ng\u2019ambi who is in the last year of his contract with Platinum Stars.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have spoken to Platinum Stars a few times. Senzo Masingiza was clear that the player was not for sale. They are not going to release him,\u201d said Matthews in an interview with Kick Off<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is a player we would have loved to have from an experience point of view and what he could add may be to our title challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n Supersport United also made an offer to Bidvest Wits for Siyabonga Nhlapo, but it was also turned down.<\/p>\n In an interview last week, Ng\u2019ambi told The Daily Times <\/em>that he was concentrating on achieving more success at Platinum Stars.<\/p>\n \u201cI am looking forward to doing better for the club next season since I struggled last season due to injuries. It is always my goal to improve my performance in every season.
