Flames striker Gabadihno Mhango came off the bench and inspired Bidvest Wits\u2019 comeback as the South African Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) defending champions thrashed struggling SuperSport United 4-1 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The former Nyasa Big Bullets striker was introduced at half time and levelled matters when he benefited from SuperSport\u2019s poor defending in the six-yard box after Dean Furman had given them the lead from the penalty spot.<\/p>\n
A few minutes later, SuperSport striker James Keene rose above two defenders to head to the far post to give the visitors a lead.<\/p>\n
Mhango continued to make his impact on the pitch when he provided the assist for Daylon Claasen who fired a powerful shot from 20 yards after 64 minutes.<\/p>\n
Wits skipper, Thulani Hlatswayo, rounded off the scoring with a header in the 87th minute to ensure maximum points for the defending champions.<\/p>\n
Following the victory, Wits have moved to position 12 on the Absa Premiership log table with 21 points from 19 games.<\/p>\n
The Clever Boys have won five, lost eight and drawn six games this season.<\/p>\n
Mhango has struggled for game time this season after serving a six-game ban for a spitting incident on Amazulu defender Michael Morton.<\/p>\n
The Rumphi-born striker helped his team win the league title last season with several vital goals.<\/p>\n
Mhango took the PSL by storm when he was voted Bloemfontein Celtic\u2019s Players\u2019 Player of the Season and top goalscorer in 2014.<\/p>\n
