Silver Strikers have beaten their rivals, Nyasa big Bullets, to the signature of highly rated Mzuni FC midfielder, Lazarus Nyemera, at an undisclosed fee.
\nOn Monday, Nyemera confirmed that he was talking to Bullets over a possible transfer.
\nBut on Tuesday, all that changed when Silver interim General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, visited Mzuzu City, and eventually re-signed the player on a three-year deal.
\n\u201cHe is a good player, and as a team, we are happy to have him back. Even in the Bible, you read the story of the prodigal son. But, when he returned to his father, he was a good son.
\n\u201cHe [Nyemera] left Silver on the basis that he wanted to further his studies. Not that he was offloaded as other people say,\u201d Nyirenda said.
\nNyemera said he was happy to return to Silver, two years after the Bankers had released him.
\n\u201cEvery player expects to play for a big club once in a lifetime. So, I thought that it was the right time for me to go back. But, I am not going back the same way I was when I left. I am matured now,\u201d the attacking midfielder said.
\nMissing out on Nyemera is the latest setback for Bullets who are yet to make a big-name signing on the transfer market.
\nBullets are also struggling to sign Righteous Banda as they are unwilling to pay the K10 million which Civil Sporting Club has pegged on the attacker.
\nIn contrast, Bullets rivals, Be Forward Wanderers have signed seven players from Azam Tigers and Premier Bet Wizards.
