Be Forward Wanderers Captain, Joseph Kamwendo, has advised the club\u2019s Executive Committee against tampering with the Yasin Osman-led coaching panel.
\nKamwendo was reacting to reports that some fans have advised the committee to bolster the coaching panel with Zimbabwean Calisto Pasuwa, ahead of the Confederation of African Football Champions League campaign against AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
\nHowever, Kamwendo said the Osman-led technical panel has performed well after winning the TNM Super League championship for the first time in 11 years.
\nWanderers also reached the Airtel Top 8 and Carlsberg cup finals.
\n\u201cI don\u2019t think that this could be the right thing to do. These guys did a good job in the just-ended season, so they deserve continuation. It was not easy to win the league title, but we fought.
\n\u201cWe expect to resume training soon, and starting training with a new coaching panel could disturb continuity. It also takes time to adapt to a new style of play,\u201d Kamwendo said.
\nThe captain also said the coming in of seven news players was good for the team, saying it would encourage healthy competition for playing positions.
\n\u201cI hope that our authorities know what they are doing. We have welcomed them [the new players]. They are good players with various skills,\u201d Kamwendo said.
\nLast week, reports transpired that Wanderers have not been able to pay their coaches for four months due to cash-flow problems.
