{"id":58320,"date":"2017-12-31T06:20:08","date_gmt":"2017-12-31T04:20:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=58320"},"modified":"2017-12-31T06:20:09","modified_gmt":"2017-12-31T04:20:09","slug":"central-region-dominates-super-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/12\/31\/central-region-dominates-super-league\/","title":{"rendered":"Central Region dominates Super League"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imagine waking up one morning only to realise that 10 of the 16 TNM Super League teams, are from the Central Region Football Association (CRFA).<br \/>\nWell, far-fetched as that might seem, CRFA has set such a target, according to Vice General Secretary, Antonio Manda.<br \/>\nHe said his region wants to produce 10 Super League teams by 2019.<br \/>\nManda spoke about such an ambition days after rookies, Masters Security FC, survived Super League relegation, following a 3-2 win over Kamuzu Barracks (KB).<br \/>\nApart from a yet-to-be identified one newly-promoted side, the region would, next season, be represented by Masters, Silver Strikers, KB, Civil Sporting Club, Mafco, Blue Eagles and Dwangwa United\u2014bringing the number of teams to eight.<br \/>\nSo far, TN Stars from Kasungu and Holy Cross Ambassadors of Lilongwe are in contention for Super League promotion from the CRFA Premier Division.<br \/>\nManda said what Masters achieved by surviving relegation was commendable, adding that the number could rise to 10 in the next two seasons.<br \/>\n\u201cIf history is anything to go by, it is not easy for a new team in the Super League to stay up.
