{"id":58198,"date":"2017-12-28T10:47:28","date_gmt":"2017-12-28T08:47:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=58198"},"modified":"2017-12-28T10:47:28","modified_gmt":"2017-12-28T08:47:28","slug":"malawi-should-benefit-from-hiv-vaccine-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/12\/28\/malawi-should-benefit-from-hiv-vaccine-trial\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Malawi should benefit from HIV vaccine trial\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi should be one of the first beneficiaries of the HIV vaccine if trials set to start next year at Lilongwe\u2019s Area 18 Health Centre are successful, a health rights group has said<br \/>\nThe government and the University of North Carolina (UNC) will start conducting the trials in 2018.<br \/>\n\u201cIf the trial becomes successful, Malawi should be one of the first beneficiaries, instead of just being used for trial purposes,\u201d said Malawi Health Equity Network Executive Director, George Jobe.<br \/>\nHe said participants in the trial must have full knowledge of what the vaccine is and its implications.<br \/>\n\u201cMalawians who will be involved should have their rights protected.
