Malawi Defence Force (MDF) has described the performance of its TNM Super League teams\u2014 Kamuzu Barracks (KB), Moyale Barracks, Red Lions and Mafco\u2014in the just-ended season as average.
\nMDF Public Relations Officer, Paul Chiphwanya, said, although KB won the Fisd Challenge Cup, the team\u2019s league performance was unconvincing.
\nMafco, who settled for sixth spot, amassed 44 points\u2014the highest points\u2019 tally among all MDF teams this season.
\nMoyale finished on seventh position, also with 44 points, whereas KB amassed 42 points.
\nChiphwanya said after KB\u2019s league title triumph last year, expectations were high from the MDF camp on its teams.
\n\u201cNot convincing, I can say. Maybe, we can be glad that Red Lions escaped relegation, considering that they flirted with it for quite some time.
\n\u201cIn addition, two of our teams [KB and Moyale] were in a [Fisd Challenge] Cup final, which was commendable. But in the league, the performance was simply average,\u201d he said
\nLions secured ninth spot after collecting 40 points.
