We are working with several studios to come up with good work. For audio, we are working with Groove Magic and the producer is Joseph Tembo as well as Studio 88 with Khumbo Kaliwo,” Zonda said.
He added that they were working with Evans Meleka and Lemekeza Phiri (Nyanja Records).
“As for the videos, we are working with MC Studios and Khaya Studios,” he said.
He said there was more work to be done since the DVD has 17 songs.
“For us to work on the DVD and CD, we need power supply and studios have also got to adjust but the power outages are worrying and this is why we have failed to finish on time,” Zonda said.
He said they have had to inform people of such developments.
“In the performances we have had, people have understood us and they know that the issue of power outages has affected everyone. We are working very hard to have it on the ground. At the moment, they are still editing [the work],” Zonda said.
Zonda hailed Umodzi Park, ITS Enterprises and GOtv for their support in the project.
“We, as artists, need support to progress in our projects and to have corporate support is worth appreciating. We just want to appeal to the corporate world, the government and other stakeholders to support the creative industry,” he said.
Great Angels, which has earned the nickname ‘The Peoples Choir’ for attracting good audiences during performances, pulled a huge audience during their show at Robin’s Park in Zomba on Christmas.
“We had a good audience in Balaka but not as big as the one we had at Robin’s Park. In Balaka, we were affected by the rains but we are thankful to people for the support,” Zonda said.
Great Angels has also taken another direction, focusing on performances in rural areas.
The group will also perform at Motel Domwe in Dedza on Dec 31 and then Joe’s Motel in Mchinji on January 1.
Great Angels, which was formed in the 1980s but started releasing albums in 2005, has four albums to their credit namely Mundifungatire, Gwireni Dzanja, Ndiyende Bwanji and Mwasankha Ine.

Power supply problems have forced Great Angels Choir to fail to launch a live DVD website launch which they had at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe in September.
