Genetrix men\u2019s and ladies\u2019 sides have maintained their dominance in FMB 11-aside Hockey League after winning the championship for the Southern Region.<\/p>\n
In the men\u2019s league, Genetrix have won the championship for the fifth successive season after collecting 24 points.<\/p>\n
Genetrix finished the season unbeaten in eight games.<\/p>\n
Nyala finished second with 15 points from eight matches whereas Scorpions ended on third position with 10 points.<\/p>\n
Braves settled for fourth position with five points while Hockey Dreams anchored the five-member table with a point.<\/p>\n
In the ladies\u2019 section, Genetrix reclaimed the title they surrendered to Simba last season.<\/p>\n
Genetrix Ladies deposed Simba after collecting 27 points from 10 games. Simba finished as runners-up with 21 points whereas Braves were third with 18 points.<\/p>\n
Scorpions ended on fourth position with 12 points whereas Nyala finished on position five with six points.<\/p>\n
Hockey Dreams Ladies also emulated the bad example of their men\u2019s side by finishing bottom of the six-team league with just a point.<\/p>\n
During the final round of games played over the weekend, Genetrix men\u2019s defeated Scorpions 18-1 and Nyala 3-0 whereas Braves beat Hockey Dreams 8-1.<\/p>\n
In the ladies\u2019 section, Simba defeated Hockey Dreams 4-0 and Nyala 7-1.<\/p>\n
Braves Ladies beat Scorpions 1-0. Nyala women\u2019s side defeated Scorpions 2-0.<\/p>\n
Genetrix Head Coach, Geoffrey Biya, said their dominance was due to planning and team spirit.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe always work together. We analyse our strengths and weaknesses and make proper adjustments,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Southern Region Hockey League spokesperson, Richmond Liabunya, described the season as successful, having wound up in time.<\/p>\n
