{"id":56831,"date":"2017-11-28T09:08:52","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T07:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=56831"},"modified":"2017-11-28T09:08:55","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T07:08:55","slug":"emmanuel-zoya-esau-kanyenda-win-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/11\/28\/emmanuel-zoya-esau-kanyenda-win-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Emmanuel Zoya, Esau Kanyenda win awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets defender Emmanuel Zoya and Be Forward Wanderers striker Esau Kanyenda have been named player of the month for September and October, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Super League of Malawi (Sulom) Treasurer, Tiya Somba Banda, presented the award to Zoya on the sidelines of Bullets\u2019 match against Silver Strikers at Kalulu Stadium whereas Kanyenda received his accolade at Balaka Stadium where Wanderers hosted Civil Sporting Club.<\/p>\n<p>Somba Banda gave Zoya a miniature trophy and a K30,000 cheque. Kanyenda received similar prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Somba said the monthly awards were aimed at encouraging players to work hard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to congratulate Zoya and Kanyenda for their efforts to be named best players in September and October. Since we introduced the player of the month award, our players are now displaying good football,\u201d Somba said.<\/p>\n<p>Zoya\u2019s consistency in cup and Super League matches earned him the most votes for September while Kanyenda has scored vital goals for Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers top the league\u2019s log table with 59 points from 26 matches while Bullets are second with 58 points from 27 matches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets defender Emmanuel Zoya and Be Forward Wanderers striker Esau Kanyenda have been named player of the month for September and October, respectively.
