Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 chase for the TNM Super League championship has suffered a setback following the injury of their hit-man, Chiukepo Msowoya, who has been ruled out for two weeks.<\/p>\n
Bullets Team Doctor, Felix Mwalule, said Msowoya\u2014the team\u2019s leading scorer\u2014pulled thigh muscles during the Fisd Challenge Cup semi-final loss to Moyale Barracks at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Mwalule said he assessed the former Orlando Pirates striker on Monday afternoon and discovered that he picked a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n
Mwalule said Msowoya will not be available for Thursday\u2019s TNM Super League game against Azam Tigers at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre, and Sunday\u2019s match against Silver Strikers at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo, Chikwawa.<\/p>\n
The doctor was optimistic that Msowoya will be available for Bullets\u2019 remaining league games.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have given him time to rest this week, and he will also be assessed next week. We want him to recover fully. We expect him [back in action] after next week,\u201d Mwalule said.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Msowoya was substituted for Bright Munthali in the 51st minute after providing an assist for Collin Nkhulambe\u2019s equaliser that cancelled out Khuda Muyaba\u2019s first-half strike for Moyale.<\/p>\n
Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa, said Msowoya\u2019s injury was a big blow to the team\u2019s hunt for the title.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are playing against Azam Tigers, and it is one of our crucial fixtures in our chase for the league title,\u201d Chilapondwa said.<\/p>\n
Bullets struggled to score in the early stages of the season, but all that changed when they re-signed Msowoya following his release by Golden Arrows of South Africa.<\/p>\n
