Be Forward Wanderers have complained over Football Association of Malawi\u2019s (Fam) delays to fly striker, Ishmael Thindwa, to South Africa for leg surgery.
\nThindwa got injured while playing for Malawi national football team during a game against Madagascar at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe in March.
\nWanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, said they are worried that Thindwa, who has not played this season, might miss 2018 pre-season matches due to the injury.
\nButao said much as they appreciate that Fam paid for the player\u2019s scan at Beit Cure International Hospital in Blantyre, the association could have done better.
\nButao said the doctor who was supposed to operate on the former Epac forward went out of the country in September.
\n\u201cOur fear is that we might not use Thindwa soon as we expected. Fam promised us that by mid-November, Thindwa would go to South Africa for an operation. So, up to now nothing tangible has been done.
\n\u201cIt is very unfortunate that he has stayed the whole season without playing for us in a competitive match, after also spending the whole season last year nursing an injury,\u201d Butao said.
\nFam Club Licensing System Manager, Casper Jangale, downplayed Butao\u2019s remarks, saying Wanderers know every move that Fam is taking to have the player treated.
\nJangale said Wanderers need to be patient as Fam has started processing documents for Thindwa\u2019s trip to South Africa.
\n\u201cThe bottom line is that the doctor who was supposed to take care of Thindwa\u2019s injury left the country,\u201d he said.
