{"id":56257,"date":"2017-11-16T09:35:49","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T07:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=56257"},"modified":"2017-11-16T09:35:51","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T07:35:51","slug":"the-queens-bar-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/11\/16\/the-queens-bar-media\/","title":{"rendered":"The Queens bar media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi national netball team coaching panel has disclosed that players will be undergoing closed training sessions ahead of three Test Series against England at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>The Times crew was not allowed to capture the team\u2019s training session at Blantyre Youth Centre on Tuesday afternoon when star-shooter, Mwawi Kumwenda, returned to the side following assurances of steps which Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) President, Khungekile Matiya, is taking to address the s tormy rela tionship between the player and the association.<\/p>\n<p>The Queens Team Manager Jane Kachali-Saidi, and assistant Coach Whyte Mulilima, said the media were not allowed to capture the training session.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will likely hold a press briefing either on Thursday [today] or Friday. But, as of now, you are not allowed to attend this training [session].<\/p>\n<p>We will not do anything [in training] until you leave these premises,\u201d Kachali-Saidi said.<\/p>\n<p>Nam officials have been reluctant to grant <em>The Times <\/em>interviews, claiming the media empire is too critical of the association\u2019s decisions on the team, including its expulsion of Mwawi from camp against the wish of the then coach Sam Kanyenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi national netball team coaching panel has disclosed that players will be undergoing closed training sessions ahead of three Test Series against England at the end of the month.
