Leaders Be Forward Wanderers and Mzuni FC must play at a neutral and convenient venue following their recent failed second-round match, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) Disciplinary Committee has ordered.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe abandoned match between Wanderers and Mzuni on November 4 2017 shall be replayed on a date to be fixed by Sulom at a venue closest to the centre from the respective bases of the two teams,\u201d the committee\u2019s statement, released yesterday, reads in part.<\/p>\n
\u201cWanderers is, hereby, found guilty of failure to control the actions of their supporters and is fined K500, 000. Wanderers FC and Mzuni FC are, hereby, found guilty of bringing the league into disrepute and are fined K1,000,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cConsidering that Wanderers facilitated the smooth and peaceful exist of the spectators from the Balaka Stadium, and therefore, is suspended to K600, 000,\u201d the statement adds.<\/p>\n
Davis Sado chaired the Sulom Disciplinary Committee hearing which further ordered a ban on some Wanderers fans and players.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo Wanderers supporters, namely Trouble and Njanji, are, hereby, banned from watching any Super League match for the rest of the season for their part in the brawl and assault.<\/p>\n
\u201cWanderers player Joseph Kamwendo is, hereby, seriously warned for two TNM Super League matches for inciting violence and offensive behaviour.<\/p>\n
\u201cWanderers official Vales Kamzere is, hereby, banned from the technical area and touch-line for four Super League matches for inciting violence and offensive behaviour,\u201d the statement adds.<\/p>\n
Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, was not available for a comment yesterday, but his Mzuni counterpart, Khumbo Kumwenda, Friday welcomed the ruling.<\/p>\n
