Lulu has said the jazz sessions have been created at Capital City Motel in Lilongwe are a perfect platform for people to experience music.<\/p>\n
The singer and guitarist said the Sunday jazz sessions are there to offer family entertainment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been holding other shows but we thought of this platform to treat people to jazz. We do not only do music but this is also a platform for other artists to show their talents,\u201d Lulu said.<\/p>\n
He said, during the sessions, they play strictly pure jazz and that they also have time when they play old Malawian songs from the likes of Kalimba and Makasu.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is also a platform where we would want to interact with the people, to hear from them what they make of our music, in terms of where they want us to improve and there is also time for them to make requests,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Lulu also said they also give a chance to people, who think they have the talent to perform, during the jazz sessions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are some people out there who have the talent but they do not have the floor so we have created that platform. These are very interactive sessions and it\u2019s all about having fun together and forgetting some of the challenges we are experiencing,\u201d the \u2018Mbambande\u2019 star said.<\/p>\n
He also said that this was a good outlet for some of Mathumela\u2019s Band members to come out.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring these jazz sessions, I also make sure I have all my music on sale. I want to make sure that people have my music on the ground,\u201d Lulu said.<\/p>\n
Lulu has since indicated that he will drop a new album in January next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am still working on the songs now. I am taking my time but, by January, I should be ready,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
