{"id":55687,"date":"2017-11-05T06:35:37","date_gmt":"2017-11-05T04:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=55687"},"modified":"2017-11-05T06:35:37","modified_gmt":"2017-11-05T04:35:37","slug":"raiply-trophy-finals-on-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/11\/05\/raiply-trophy-finals-on-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Raiply Trophy finals on today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Raiply National Volleyball Trophy national finals are on this afternoon as teams in both the men\u2019s and the women\u2019s categories battle for the top prize at Katoto Secondary School Sports Grounds in Mzuzu.<br \/>\nGames commenced on Friday with the three regional leagues sending their representatives to the three-day event.<br \/>\nThe winner in the men\u2019s category will pocket K600,000, gold medals and a floating trophy while half the amount and silver medals will go to the runners-up.<br \/>\nThe third-place play-off winners will pocket K200,000 and bronze medals with some K100,000 being earmarked for the forth-placed team.<br \/>\nThe ladies\u2019 category has K500,000 for the winner on top of gold medals and a floating trophy.<br \/>\nThe losing finalist will go home with K260,000 and silver medals, with K160,000 and bronze medals set aside for the winner of the third place play-of.<br \/>\nThe forth-placed team will pocket K80,000 as the rest of the other teams are guaranteed a consolation of K20,000 each.<br \/>\nVolleyball Association of  Malawi General Secretary, Jairos Nkhoma, said winners in both categories will represent Malawi at this year\u2019s Zone VI Senior Volleyball Club Championship in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, early December.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are encouraging teams to start preparations now. Zimbabwe is not very far from Malawi, so we expect teams to go and represent us there.
