There is uncertainty over the future of Azam Tigers Head Coach, Patrick Kulemeka\u2019s services at the club as he has not been reporting for training for a week.<\/p>\n
In Kulemeka\u2019s absence, the team\u2019s former stars, Charles Chikoti and Chikaiko Bridge, have been taking charge of the side\u2014but they do not possess the required minimum of a Caf B-Licence.<\/p>\n
Technical Director, Robin Alufandika, said Kulemeka has been out attending a funeral and would be back at the team any time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe excused him to attend the funeral and we expect him to let us know as soon as he feels ready to return to the team. He is still in our books,\u201d Alufandika said.<\/p>\n
Asked to explain what he made of Kulemeka\u2019s week-long absence, Alufandika simply said whatever the case, the coach remains on his team\u2019s books.<\/p>\n
Kulemeka is reported to have gone to a funeral of a member of the church grouping he heads last week and that being the case, he should have ordinarily returned to training within a few days.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere could be other issues but they are in-house. We will discuss them as a family,\u201d Alufandika said.<\/p>\n
Kulemeka confirmed that he did not go back to the team after his return from the funeral.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a few issues that require us, as a family, to sit down and sort out. I will hear what they will say but I have some concerns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kulemeka was conspicuously absent on October 21 when Tigers lost 2-0 to Blue Eagles in a TNM Super League match at Chiwembe Ground in Blantyre.<\/p>\n
Tigers are expected to travel to Dedza Stadium for a league match against Masters Security tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The team has also been passing through a period of uncertainty after officials threatened to disband it due to frustrations bordering on officiation and incidents of hooliganism.<\/p>\n
