Nyasa Big Bullets have moved to second position on the TNM Super League log table\u2014replacing Silver Strikers temporarily\u2014 after beating Moyale Barracks 1-0 at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre Sunday.<\/p>\n
In-form striker Chiukepo Msowoya\u2019s 32nd minute goal took Bullets\u2019 tally to 44 points from 21 games, two points ahead of Silver, who meet Azam Tigers today, and six points behind leaders Be Forward Wanderers.<\/p>\n
The game was delayed by 36 minutes after Moyale protested the harassment of their technical panel members by suspected Bullets\u2019 fans.<\/p>\n
During the game, Bullets missed many scoring chances. Referee Dennis Nguluwe also ruled for offside Bullets\u2019 three efforts.<\/p>\n
Moyale Coach, Nicholas Mhango, avoided commenting on the pre-match incident, but said he was happy with his team\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a coach, I don\u2019t only see the results of the game, but also the performance. We played well and they also played well. The best team won at the end of the day,\u201d Mhango said.<\/p>\n
Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa, said the win had boosted their push for the championship.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe studied their style of play and we were lucky that we scored first; otherwise, what is more important is that we have taken home three points. Being on second position gives us a picture of how we should approach the remaining games for us to be champions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Today\u2019s game between Silver and Tigers will determine who remains on second position.<\/p>\n
In other games played yesterday, Dwangwa United\u2019s revival continued when they beat Red Lions 2-0, with Jack Chiona and Victor Harawa on target for the hosts whereas Civo United and Azam Tigers drew 1-1.<\/p>\n
Innocent Tanganyika scored for fourth-placed Civo (34 points) whereas Tigers, who are ninth with 28 points, replied through Benard Palanda. Elsewhere, Mzuni defeated Masters Security 2-1 at Mzuzu Stadium.
