{"id":54874,"date":"2017-10-11T09:37:12","date_gmt":"2017-10-11T07:37:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=54874"},"modified":"2017-10-11T09:37:12","modified_gmt":"2017-10-11T07:37:12","slug":"tabitha-chawingas-team-out-of-drop-zone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/10\/11\/tabitha-chawingas-team-out-of-drop-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"Tabitha Chawingas\u2019 team out of drop zone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>M<\/strong>alawi Women\u2019s National Football Team Captain, Tabitha Chawinga, hammered a brace as her side Kvarnsveden IK defeated Pitea IF 3-1 to move out of the relegation of Elitettan Damer League in Sweden on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The victory was important as Kvarnveden moved one point above the drop zone with 18 points from 18 games.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring Tabitha\u2019s sister Temwa, Kvarnveden reportedly displayed a spirited performance to defeat the fourth-placed Pitea, with four games to wind up the season.<\/p>\n<p>Ghanaian Elizabeth Addo provided assists for Tabitha.<\/p>\n<p>Armisa Kuc scored the other goal for Kvarnsveden. Temwa, playing as a winger, was reportedly outstanding during the game.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview from Sweden, Tabitha said she was confident in her side\u2019s survival in the league.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have four crucial games to save our season but we will do it. We are determined to stay in the top-flight league,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Tabitha is on course to win her third consecutive Golden Boot Award since moving to Sweden in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>She has scored 24 goals followed by Ella Masar of Resengard and Linda Sallstrom of Vittsjo with 12 goals each.<\/p>\n<p>The former DD Sunshine striker won her first award when she netted 38 goals for Krokom\/ Dvassatts before reclaiming it last year for Kvarnsveden with 43 goals.<\/p>\n<p>Tabitha also scored 10 goals in three games for Malawi at the Cosafa Women\u2019s Championship which took place in Zimbabwe last month.<\/p>\n<p>Kvarnsveden were crowned champions of Swedish second-tier league last season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi Women\u2019s National Football Team Captain, Tabitha Chawinga, hammered a brace as her side Kvarnsveden IK defeated Pitea IF 3-1 to move out of the relegation of Elitettan Damer League in Sweden on Sunday.
