He is eyeing a coaching career.<br \/>\n\u201cI am happy to announce my retirement. It has been a good journey at Moyale and I am happy to say that I have learnt a lot from the club, especially during the time I was captain. I can stand up and say I helped transform the team with the help of Coach Nicholas Mhango,\u201d he said<br \/>\nThe versatile defender joined Moyale in 2007 from Cobbe Barracks. He was appointed captain in 2009 and surrendered the arm-band to Gastin Simkonda last year.<br \/>\nLast year, former Moyale coach, Collins Nkuna, converted Mitengo into a midfielder.<br \/>\nMoyale Team Manager Gerald Kanje and Assistant Coach Charles Kamanga were in the dark about Mitengo\u2019s retirement.<br \/>\n\u201cI have heard the news, but it is difficult for me to confirm because I am in Blantyre right now. However, if it is true, then it is a blow to us. Of course, he has been off the pitch for sometime because of an injury, but his presence alone was a motivation to other players.
