Former Malawi\u2019s Flames skipper, Patrick Mabedi, has said he is learning a lot working under Kaizer Chiefs Coach, Steve Komphela, in South African Premier Soccer League (PSL).<\/p>\n
The Daily Times <\/em>contacted the former Flames assistant coach Tuesday to share his experience of working on the coaching panel of one of the giant football clubs in Africa.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is a familiar surrounding for me. I am used to the sights and sounds here. I am home,\u201d said the former Chiefs captain.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, life is about learning. I am learning a lot from the coach. About coaching, this is not my first time. I have worked under Munshin Ertrugral [at Mpumalanga Black Aces] and I have even done it on my own [as coach of Cape Town All Stars].\u201d<\/p>\n The holder of Uefa coaching badges served as co-assistant coach to the then Flames interim mentor, Eddingtone Ng\u2019onamo, in 2013 and also in similar capacity under Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan in 2015.<\/p>\n The former Nyasa Big Bullets defender did not rule out coaching the Flames in future.<\/p>\n \u201cNow it is about waiting for the right time [to coach the Flames],\u201dsaid Mabedi, who replaced Ghanaian John Painstil as Komphela\u2019s right-hand man.<\/p>\n Chiefs Football Manager, Bobby Motaung, visited Lilongwe a fortnight ago but Mabedi said there was nothing suggesting that the Soweto giants spotted any player.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Former Malawi\u2019s Flames skipper, Patrick Mabedi, has said he is learning a lot working under Kaizer Chiefs Coach, Steve Komphela, in South African Premier Soccer League (PSL).
