H<\/strong>oly Cross Ambassadors FC, Nchalo United and Karonga United have stepped up their bids for TNM Super League promotion as they lead Premier Division log tables for their respective regional leagues.<\/p>\n

In the Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Chipiku Premier Division, Ambassadors lead with 35 points, just like second-placed Wimbe United.<\/p>\n

Former TNM Super League side, Dedza Young Soccer, are on third place with 34 points after playing 19 games followed by another former top-flight team, Airborne Rangers, on 33 points from the same number of games.<\/p>\n

Ambassadors have won 10 games, drawn four and lost five while scoring 34 goals whereas Wimbe have won 11 games, drawn twice and lost six games.<\/p>\n

CRFA Vice-General Secretary, Antonio Manda, said the first-round was exciting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also expecting an entertaining second-round,\u201d Manda said.<\/p>\n

In Chipiku Division One, Lilongwe Veterans and Kamwendo United are on position one and two, with 44 points and 38 points, respectively. Each team has played 21 games.<\/p>\n

Kanyenda FC lead Division Two, popularly known as Chipiku Plus, with 31 points from 15 games whereas Mbuna FC are second with 30 points from the same number of games.<\/p>\n

In Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Masters Security Premier Division, Nchalo are at the summit with 47 points from 20 games followed by Mangochi United and Chikwawa United with 42 points and 40 points, respectively.<\/p>\n

Nchalo, coached by Mabvuto Lungu, maintained their top spot over the weekend after a four-all draw against hosts Mangochi.<\/p>\n

Mangochi Chairperson, Jaffalie Donda, said they were disappointed with the result.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only consolation is that players worked hard for us to come from 4-1 down and force a draw,\u201d Donda said.<\/p>\n

SRFA Chairperson, Raphael Humba, was contented with the level of competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gap between teams from position one to seven is not big, which means that there is competition,\u201d Humba said.<\/p>\n

In Northern Region, Karonga are in the driving seat with 36 points, at par with Chilumba Barracks.<\/p>\n

Karonga went top on goal-aggregate after beating Bolero 4-0 on Sunday. However, Chilumba have a game in hand.<\/p>\n

Karonga Coach, Dave Muyombe, said his side was the favourite for Super League promotion.<\/p>\n
