A University of Malawi\u2013 Chancellor College-student Epylen Chimasula has come out to call for votes from people to excel in the Miss University Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cHello Malawi, I am reaching out to ask for your votes in the Miss University Africa non-bikini pageant 2017 contest. Your vote is a powerful way to make Malawi shine in the contest. Vote by liking my photo as a Malawi representative on Instagram,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The 21-year-old student, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, said this was the first time for her to participate in the contest.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my first time. I am not sure when the event will take place and the prize but I got into it through a family friend and then downloaded the forms and sent them with pictures in different attires,\u201d Chimasula said.<\/p>\n
She said among the requirements is that one has to be between the ages of 18 and 26, should never have married, have no children and be an active University student.<\/p>\n
\u201cI actually made it through, what they were looking for. And that also gives a chance to be the winner of the competition for there were a lot of University students who sent the forms but never qualified,\u201d Chimasula said.<\/p>\n
According to her, the contest aims at celebrating beauty with brains, discouraging indecent dressing among African students or youths.<\/p>\n
Chimasula further said the event also strives to celebrate African culture\/tourism discovering the innate potential of African students\/youths.<\/p>\n
According to available information, Miss University Africa is an annual event that brings together 54 countries in one huge event.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s Miss University Africa, to be held in Nigeria, is well on its way to announce the winner.<\/p>\n
