{"id":53398,"date":"2017-09-13T08:27:44","date_gmt":"2017-09-13T06:27:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=53398"},"modified":"2017-09-13T08:27:45","modified_gmt":"2017-09-13T06:27:45","slug":"big-bullets-stick-to-elia-kananji","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2017\/09\/13\/big-bullets-stick-to-elia-kananji\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Bullets stick to Elia Kananji"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>N<\/strong>yasa Big Bullets have resolved to pay K500,000 fine for them to continue using unqualified interim Coach, Elia Kananji, in the second-round of the TNM Super League.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets are ready to pay the fine to Football Association of Malawi (Fam), whose Club Licensing System regulations require that a head coach for a Super League team must possess a minimum qualification of a Caf B-Licence.<\/p>\n<p>Kananji, who has a Caf C-Licence, is in charge of the team following the absence of Bullets Coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, who did not return from his four-game suspension he received in the first- round. The Burundian has since been fired.<\/p>\n<p>In Ramadhan\u2019s absence, Kananji has led Bullets to Carlsberg Cup glory following their 5-3 post-match penalty shoot-out victory over Be Forward Wanderers at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The former Blantyre United mentor has also revived Bullets\u2019 Super League fading title hopes as they lie on eighth position with 28 points from 15 games.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, Tuesday said they will pay the fine to maintain Kananji as their coach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have written Fam to allow us to continue using Kananji for the rest of the season because looking at the current situation, we can\u2019t just get a new coach,\u201d said Chigoga in view of Fam\u2019s directive that they can deploy Kananji as head coach until the first-round.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe only have three days to go before we face Chitipa United in our second-round first assignment. We are planning to send Kananji to a coaching course next year, and much as we appreciate that we have several qualified coaches in the country, you can agree with me that most of them are not even coaching in the Premier Division, so it is hard to take them on board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fam Club Licensing System Manager, Casper Jangale, Tuesday said he would wait for the letter from Bullets before commenting.<\/p>\n<p>Jangale said they will evaluate Bullets\u2019 reasons over their failure to hire a qualified coach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey approached us after the Carlsberg Cup final on Saturday, asking for any alternative for them to keep their coach. However, we have to follow the rules and regulations.
